Why no tunes from the bells?

Made by William Gillett in 1879 at a cost of £250 the Carillon plays a series of tunes, popular at the time, every 3 hours. The unit has not been in use for several years - there are missing pins on the drum and the long steel wire linkages which ascend into the tower roof and eventually down to the main bells are in need of replacement.
