Worship & General Services

We will continue to bring the church and our services into your homes and these are available to view through our Facebook feed at the bottom of this website, our Facebook Page #pershoreabbeycom and on our YouTube channel Pershore Abbey Community.

Pershore Abbey has been the focus for worship of God for many centuries. We continue that tradition with the services that we offer on a daily and weekly basis. That same tradition is continued throughout our other churches in the benefice:

  • St James’ Church, Birlingham
  • St Nicholas’ Church, Pinvin
  • St Mary’s Church, Wick

If you are thinking of joining us for worship, this is our usual pattern of services but please check the diary/calendar or latest service sheet to confirm the services for a particular day. We look forward to welcoming you.

Details and Times of Services:

Our normal schedule of services are:

  • Daily Offices  –  0800 Silent Prayer, 0830 Morning Prayer, 1700 Evening Prayer
  • Sunday Services – 1030 with livestream

Please see the weekly bulletin for the most up to date information.

PLEASE NOTE: Following the Covid 19 pandemic, some of our regular services have not yet been re-instated. Please check our weekly bulletin for details of the services taking place each week.

Regular Daily Services - Monday to Saturday

8:00am – Silent Prayer
8:30am – Morning Prayer
5:00pm – Evening Prayer

Other Services

10:00am – Midweek Communion (Every Wednesday)

It has been a challenging time at St James’ since the pandemic. Our regular congregation has reduced to 4-6 people at a usual service and the PCC now has only 5 members. There is a huge pressure on those who are involved to carry out all the duties required of a church and to maintain regular worship. We are so pleased that the few do so much, but it is not sustainable. In light of this the PCC has decided that instead of offering two regular services a month, as we have done for some time, we are going to focus instead on special services as and when they fit the Church’s year.

Please do look out for more information through the weekly and monthly bulletins. Claire

“Pershore is a gratifyingly parking-friendly town, with plenty of free spaces available to the visitor, not least in the vicinity of its magnificent Abbey. This splendid building chose the equally splendid Sinfonia of Birmingham to perform the first concert there since the beginning of the pandemic, and the atmosphere could not have been more welcoming.”

Family History/Records

Parish records are a vital source when tracing your family history and the majority of records for the parishes in the Pershore Benefice have been archived for the period prior to the start of Civil Registration in 1837. More recent records have also been archived.

If the record that you are seeking is not archived at present, and relevant information not available via Civil Registration, please apply in writing to:

Abbey Office, Alveston House, 11 Broad Street, Pershore, WR10 1BB

Giving as many details as you can – church, full names, dates etc. Undertaking searches of parish records can be time consuming, so please consider making a donation for the work undertaken.

If you would like to find the records of a relative please contact the county archive, in the first instance, at Worcestershire Record Office:
